Hello Andy, Concerning VLAN tagging: in our environment we had two different Sun Netra servers providing SRSS, one had an hme adapter, I believe, and another had an eri adapter, one of each dedicated to an interconnection.
When we decided to put Sun Rays on a separate VLAN, one server worked fine with a VLAN trunk on its supported interface (i.e. hme71001 for VLAN 71 if I remember correctly), while another used a PCI NIC. NIC with VLANs had an "untagged" connection for LAN on the [Hewlett-Packard] switch, and a tagged link for SunRays. Also one DTU worked finely over a WiFi link. PS: Beware 3Com NICs on SPARC. While well supported on x86, few models have SPARC drivers. A 3C905C-TX worked, "B" model didn't. -- Best regards, Jim Klimov mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ SunRay-Users mailing list [email protected] http://www.filibeto.org/mailman/listinfo/sunray-users
