Amber lights mean hardware POST failure.  Since there's really nothing user
serviceable in the SRs, yeah, it's trashcan time.

If it's a SR1, it might be the power supply capacitor problem which you can
repair yourself.  http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~mgk25/sunray/caps-repair.html

But given that these things are only $25 on Ebay, it might not be worth the
hassle unless you enjoy tinkering.
