It looks like a very tempting product to me, since it is cheap enough to get for evaluation (as compared with the $1500 models). Then again, the site only has an e-mail link for sales, and no direct "way to buy one" that I can see.

Of course ever since I lost my Sun Ray 150's (lightning blew out Ethernet ports), and moved to older Sun Ray 1's and a new Sun Ray 2 with external LCDs, I'm running everything at 1280x1024. What happens when you hot-desk a 1280x1024 session to a 1024x768 display?

You get to see a 1024x768 piece of your 1280x1024 desktop with panning.

(and is it usable?)

Not really :-/

If you just need quick access to your existing session or to a single window which you can manually size to fit the screen, then it should be good enough, but not as a regular work environment.

In situations like this, I've forced sessions to the smaller size, even on the larger display, in the past. I would not recommend bringing yourself into that bind knowingly.
