Hi Cristian,

>From the advice of a Sun Ray guru (he will recognize itself   ;-) )

  • The sizings are per cpu based.  Recent evidence shows that we can assume that per cpu also means per core – ie a single cpu, dual core box is the same as a dual cpu, single core box;
  • Final, definitive sizing can only be achieved through a pilot;
  • Final, definitive sizing can only be achieved through a pilot.

Recently I have done some sizing exercise based on that :
    • 10 to 15 users / CPU (core)
    • X Mo per user (depend on what must run on the SunRays Desktop)
    • It's also very important to know the % of concurrent users, because the server that support X concurrent connections  can support more Sun Ray Desktop if we have 50% concurrent connexions !!

I hope that these will help,

best regards,
Kamal

Hi

Im planning to buy a couple of Sun x64 servers to deploy 20-30 SunRay users in them, i have to use RHEL 4 btw.

Any suggestion for the specs of the servers would be much appreciated :)
