I just checked and xlock really does work and I can unlock it if I start it
manually.
As Bob Doolittle has pointed out in an earlier email, I believe it is the
combination of a hung xscreensaver and the xlock that created the problem.
I am still waiting for it to happen again. But when you wait for it to happen,
it never happens ...
