After hours of research/googling... I found that a post by Meik Hellmund almost 2 years ago explains a bit: http://www.filibeto.org/pipermail/sunray-users/2005-May/000817.html
If I switch from libesd-alsa0 to libesd0 it helps audio work. esd -d $UTAUDIODEV then works. Now... there are two issues... getting esd started on login correctly. And then getting all/most apps using esd. For instance, Totem apparently is using alsa directly and I can't change this. Gnome settings are set to use esd, but still Totem doesn't care. Flash in Firefox doesn't talk to ESD apparently or anything that ultimately plays $UTAUDIODEV ... but Mplayer and Rythmbox like it. I hope to figure this out, if others have already gone down this path... please give me pointers. -Scott _______________________________________________ SunRay-Users mailing list [email protected] http://www.filibeto.org/mailman/listinfo/sunray-users
