Missing session specification (-s option)
/opt/SUNWut/lib/utdtsession[450]: dpyparm: parameter not set
About every three seconds.
The "Missing session specification" message explains why
you're getting stuck at 26D. It means that something is very
badly broken on this machine.
Near the top of the /opt/SUNWut/lib/utdtsession script there
are a couple of commented-out statements:
#exec 2>/var/tmp/utdtsession.$$ # Debug
#set -x
Please edit the script and remove the # character from the start
of those two lines. Let the system run for a few minutes with
the modified script while the Sun Ray 150 is trying to get a
session, then restore the script to its original form by commenting
out those two lines again. (If you prefer, save the original script
and copy it back into place to restore the original behaviour.)
That should leave you with a few /var/tmp/utdtsession.* files.
Please send me those files. Please also send the result of
running '/etc/opt/SUNWut/jre/bin/java -version'.
A dtlogin -daemon process is running, but I don't have any Xsun
processes. :(
That's because SRSS isn't getting far enough to tell dtlogin
to start any Xsuns. The 'utdtsession' script is failing long
before that point.
I also noticed that I am getting the following error:
Mar 12 19:42:22 srss1.it.wmich.edu 0x0.0x40e89 0:3:ba:6b:a7:9b
Network: FreeTcb:Freeing Tcb before the connection is closed
That's just the Sun Ray unit's way of saying that the server
has hung up on it. It's a consequence of the "Missing session
specification" problem.
