Subject: [SunRay-Users] External Cdrom problem in Sunray Clients
Date: Tue, 13 Mar 2007 10:48:26 +0400

Hi,

I have tried to install an external CD-Rom on to a thin client and faced
some problems while doing this.

· Once we insert a CD into the CD-Rom, we couldn't take the CD outside.
After that we have to turn the power off and power on the external CD Drive
to eject.
· Once we view the files in a CD, the information stays in the specified
drive even if the CD is taken out.

To solve both above problems, run 'utdiskadm -e' on the device.

· The main problem is that the files in the CD can be viewed by all the thin
client users.

Can you explain the steps to reproduce this ?
Usually a storage device is mounted under a directory owned by the user logged in. Even if the device is not unmounted properly, the mount point remains protected under the user's mount parent, which currently is /tmp/SUNWut/mnt/username, so it is not visible to anyone else.

Are you running in CAM mode ?

-a-

Can anyone please help me to resolve this issue.

thanks and regards,
Junaid.
