You're going to have trouble with WS, it's not supported and is missing
several packages that SRSS depends on.
I can't find RPM lists for AS4 and WS4. The usual things that
SRSS cares about that are missing from "desktop" Linux
editions are a DHCP server (required if you're going to issue
IP address leases or Sun Ray startup configuration information
from this machine), a TFTP server (required if you're going to
offer Sun Ray firmware downloads or non-DHCP startup
configuration from this machine), and a webserver (required
if you want to be able to manage Sun Ray from a web
browser).
If you want to do those things then it's usually easy to find and
install the missing features. The resulting desktop+server
hybrid might or might not be supported by the distro's supplier.
Sun Ray will not be supported on such a hybrid because there
are far too many possible variations for Sun to be able to make
any promises about Sun Ray's ability to be installed and to run
(or continue to run) on a hand-crafted platform.
If you need support from Sun then you need to have at least
one of the supported platforms someplace so that you can
reproduce issues on that platform.
