I tried to solve my problem by renaming the xmodmap binary, as it was 
suggested in another thread, but it didn't help. I think that my 
problems stem from a different cause (it's not just a GNOME problem), as 
I observe wrong keyboard mapping already during logging in (Enter on the 
main part of the keyboard doesn't work).

Are there other suggestions what to do?
