I had asked this question before, but never really received many

We're using two SRSS servers to serve a manufacturering environment
that runs three shifts. This means that there is no good time to
schedule a server for an outage to patch it.
My question is this. Is there a way to move sessions from one SRSS
server to another without loss of data or losing the spot users
were working in?
How does everyone else deal with patching in a 24/7 environment?
We solve this problem by having lots of smaller servers and at least
one hot spare (utadm -f) in each fail over group.
When we do maint we close off the hosts with (utadm) and drain them.
We give users notices and when they are all off the box we do our maint.
Having the hot spare allows us to do rolling upgrades. It's very hard
to ask users to logout every night in our environment. We have some
users who have not logged out for five months.
This was one of the biggest decisions that drove us to smaller
footprint servers than one or two big machines. Looking back I think
it was one of the best decisions we made.
