Hi,

On the wiki cookbook ( http://wiki.sun-rays.org/index.php/VDA_Cookbook) and in the README of VDA 1.0 it states that the SunRay/SSGD server needs to be installed on Solaris 10 (Sparc/i386). But when looking a the vda-client directory there is also a binary for Linux.

Is it possible to install the VDA Client on Linux. And if so are there any limitations to this?

A Linux version of the vda-client is indeed provided with the VDA kit, and there aren't any limitations in using that client (it's the same code compiled on a different platform), however, I've realised recently that this binary may have dependency issues depending on which flavour of Linux you're actually running it on. The glibc version used to compile it may not be available on all distributions, so it's possible that the executable won't run due to missing libraries.

Regards,

Cyrille
