Hello,
today I upgraded our Solaris server and installed SRSS 3.1, and since
then I have problems with one card in one of our SunRays. The
configuration is as follows:
Linux server: x86_64, FC5 (2.6.20-1.2312), SRSS 3.1.1 - not upgraded
Solaris server: sparc, Solaris 9 with the latest Recommended and
Security patches, SRSS 3.1
All SunRay units are the ancient SunRay 1. All cards are MicroPayflex
and they belong to one series (we got them in one pack).
During the installation and configuration I was sitting at "SunRay A"
with "card A" inserted. I was logged to the Linux server and worked on
the Solaris server over ssh. During the work I changed for "SunRay B". I
removed "card B" from it and inserted "card A" and continued with the
installation. After the installation, both servers work and users can
choose a server to log in (via SelectAtLogin). We don't adopt any policy
regarding cards - everyone can log in to any SunRay unit either with a
card or without it. The only problem is with "card B" inserted to
"SunRay B" (no matter which server is pre-selected). I get the icon of
"Card Read Error". The "card B" works with both servers in other SunRays
and "SunRay B" seems to accept other cards (well, in fact, I tried only
"card A"). The messages on Solaris server do not say anything, messages
on Linux contain lines like these

but I don't know whether they are related to my problem.
I found a suggestion at docs.sun.com to 1. upgrade the firmware or 2.
replace the card. But if the firmware in "SunRay B" is bad, why does
"card A" work? And if the "card B" is damaged, why does it work in other
units? Or does anyone have another explanation (and solution)?
