The tiny image would be within the firmware, there wouldn't be a way to
change it. One thing I did for a demo is when no card was inserted, I
set up a kiosk mode and just displayed an image using the open source
program 'xli'. For a production environment I wouldn't recommend it
because you would need to maintain twice as many open sessions as
necessary.
