Hi Lars,
Hi again , I also got SSGD set up today.
The " Please WAIT " bit map thats displayed on a Sunray with
Xloadimage while a VM starts up is seen during a very brief moment.
If I dont watch the screen intently I miss it completly. Im using
Sun Ray 170 units with the SRS4 from this August.
It looks like the uttsc binary is overwriting the Xroot window
immediately after Xloadimage has displayed the WAIT.png
so the wait period is spent looking at a black screen produced by
"uttsc"
I did not have the solution deployed with previous versions of the
software so maybe uttsc did not overwrite the Xroot window
previously , I dont know.
The way it works now, the Xloadimage bitmap is not really seen by the
end user.
Normally, uttsc isn't started until after the VDA has successfully
started the virtual desktop, and been able to connect to its RDP port
itself (to ensure that once we launch uttsc, it's going to succeed). If
the virtual desktop is already started and ready, then yes the VDA will
return reasonably quickly with its IP and thus uttsc will be started
almost immediately, but then unless there's some connectivity issue or a
problem with the Windows OS on the virtual machine, it should get to the
login prompt almost immediately.
One thing that I did on occasion see, though, is that the -r device
redirection we've included in the uttsc startup (to redirect the mounted
devices from the Sun Ray to the U drive of the Windows OS) caused some
hangings in the execution of uttsc. Could you maybe try and remove that
option in the vda-kiosk.sh script invocation of uttsc and see if that
makes any difference in your setup?
Thanks,
Cyrille
