Greetings,

I'm running VMware-server-1.0.2-39867 and SRSS 3.1.1 on CentOS 4.4 x86_64. Hardware is Sunfire X2200, dual core opteron 2218 with 4GB RAM. Network is Gigabit ethernet with a fibre link between the switches (separate buildings about 250 meters apart).

I have ten SunRay 2's connecting, each running a minimalist Windows 2000 VM that provides a single windows application.

My problem is with screen rendering in the windows VM - there are random missing chunks of the windows screen. Users must alt/tab or minimise/maximise to redraw the missing chunks. Moving the mouse over the blank area "colours in" the missing detail.

I've done some experimenting with MTU sizes to avoid fragmentation with no success noticeable improvement. The issue seems to peak under higher loads - and it has gotten more noticeable as SunRays have been added.

Has anybody had experience with vmware and sunray and maybe has a solution for these screen rendering problems?

Julian
