I have discovered that editing /opt/SUNWut/kiosk/bin/dtwmrc.footer &
commenting out the following lines as shown is a workaround for this
problem introduced by patch 124847-02

# Alt<Btn1Click> frame|icon|window f.raise
# Alt<Btn1Click2> frame|window f.minimize
# Alt<Btn1Click2> icon f.restore
# Alt<Btn2Click> frame|icon|window f.raise_lower
# Alt<Btn1Down> frame|icon|window f.move
# Alt<Btn3Down> window f.minimize

I would rather wait for an official explanation/fix though!

Subject: RE: [SunRay-Users] uttsc 1.1 patch 124847-02

Hi, I am using srss 3.1 on either sparc or x86 with uttsc 1.1 patched to
124847-01. Running in cam mode the script basically launches a chooser
then uttsc -m -k en_gb -l en_gb server_name. This brings up the
microsoft TS login screen and all works wonderfully.
We have been suffering with compressed text in office apps & this new
uttsc patch 124847-02 claims to fix this, which it does!
However it introduces this ALT mouse behavior when in the microsoft TS
environment. ATL + left mouse click will bring up some coordinates in
brackets ie ( 0,0 ) and moving the mouse around will move the entire
microsoft windows TS session around showing a dark blue background
behind. ALT + right mouse will minimize the microsoft TS session back to
a small square in the top left of the dark blue background.
There well may be more strange behavior but this is all we have noticed
so far.

This also happens in srss4 with uttsc2. When using cde to launch the
uttsc kiosk script exactly the same behavior. Using the sun desktop,
generic x session or sunray connector as the kiosk mode session works
fine. However with our chooser app we cant use the sunray connector, the
generic x session launches the chooser without a window manager, which
looks quite nice but suffers from needing the mouse over the window to
enable tabbing between the chooser options, and the sun desktop
occasionally leaves the start bar with orange button at the bottom of
the screen.

I hope this is recognized as a bug and can be fixed quickly as I have
thousands of users who have this compressed text problem in excel but
cannot roll out the patch as if they accidentally alt + mouse and loose
their microsoft TS session this will cause enormous problems for the
service desk.

Mark,

Can you describe the scenario a bit more.. What exactly are you using
and what is the problem seen by the user ?

Thanks
