Typically you'd buy them blank (truly blank) from the store on www.gemalto.com but right now their whole store seems broken and they no longer list payflex cards. Perhaps a phone call.

Gemalto is the result of the Schlumberger -> Alxalto spin off and the GemPlus Axalto Merger.

Thanks Alex,

I ordered a pair of Samsung JCOP cards ($3.98, I believe) from
smartcardsource. Where did you find the micropayflex card for 4.7
Euro ?

After I try out the Samsung cards, I'll post back to the forum and
sunray-users.

Thanks for your help.

Jim

Hi Jim,

You can look at MicroPayflex ( Product ID: 19744008). Have no problem using it with SunRays.
Price is 4,7 Euro.
Or you can look here:

Just found these links out with the help of Google.
I didn't buy anything there and put it here only for the sake of the example.

Hope it'll help.

Best regards,

We too are in search of sub-$5.00 smartcards. We are moving toward an
integrated photo ID/Sunray card. We have been unable to find anything
less than $12.00 per card (blank). Add a $5.00 proximity button to the
card and you are out $17.00 every time someone loses a card.

The Sun "no-artwork" cards average out less than $5.00 per card but
still have a substantial Sun logo on the all-plastic side which means
you can't use that side for your company photo and logo. And while the
other side of the card is blank, the chip contacts interfere with just
about anything you want to put on the lower third of the card.
Nevermind that our marketing/branding folks almost certainly will object
to Sun's logo on our ID badge.

We received a few totally blank Payflex cards from our Sun rep once but
he doesn't know where to get more. We even contacted the company
(Gemalto) who said they supply Sun's Payflex cards and they said they
can't sell us blank ones per agreement with Sun (!)

I know we can try to write config files for any given card, should we
find one. But the trouble is that nobody seems to have blank cards at a
reasonable cost.

Any pointers greatly appreciated.

Jim
