Hi Lars,

After upgrading to S10 u4 and SRS4u2 and setting up the gnome Kiosk environment, I started to get error messages in /var/opt/apoc/Logs/*.log saying that it could not connect more than 50 sessions.

I found that I had configured for 50 sessions using the apoc-config utility, so it was my own fault basically. so I increased to 100 sessions for now.

However this did not happend before starting the Gnome Kiosk AFAIK.

Has anyone validated if the Kiosk Gnome environment does or does not
establish sessions with the APOC service ?

As long as gconfd is running ( and it should be for the environment you mention ) and is configured to use apoc ( see the apoc entries in /etc/gconf/2/path ) you'll see attempts to create apoc sessions.

BTW, it's worth noting that the limit you mention is actually on the number of client application connections i.e. each client application ( gconfd, firefox, staroffice ) will attempt to create a separate connection and each of these attempts will be subject to the limit you mentioned.

Geoff.
