Solaris 10 u4 ships with Firefox 2.0.
The SDM templates in SDM 1.0.1 for firefox is for Firefox 1.5
according to the release notes.
No one is going to use Firefox 1.5 today ( to many known security
holes )
in S10 u4 /usr/lib/firefox/components there is already a
libmozapoc.so so where is the
templates for firefox 2.0 for SDM 1.01 ?
Not sure.
I've cc'd some people who might know.
Leo, Brian, can you offer Lars some advice ?
I would say that the most important thing is having the adapter, which
is apparently the case in the latest Solaris version. The template for
Firefox 1.5 is likely to generate profiles which are usable with Firefox
2.0, as I doubt (though I could be wrong) that settings in the Firefox
preferences have changed names between one version and the other (and
the setting names are the only items related to the application in the
templates). It's possible, though, that some new settings have appeared
in the newer version, in which case it wouldn't be possible to set them
with the old template, but I'd think most of the ones from 1.5 are still
there with the same semantics in 2.0, so you could just give it a try
(as in, install the Firefox 1.5 templates in the Desktop Manager, use it
to create profiles for your users, and see whether these settings are
applied in Firefox 2.0).
Note that you can also perform template modifications, or even create
new ones tailored to your needs, by using the Desktop Manager Developer
Guide available from docs.sun.com, specifically at
http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-2728?l=en

Cyrille
