If you go that route you might checkout blastwave. They have squid and
squidguard packages. The two together work great for content filtering.

Why not use an HTTP proxy or SOCKS server which requires
authentication? THen it's really by user, and not which machine they're
logged in to?

Hello, i have to ask a question that has kind of stumped
me. I am working on deploying Sun Rays to my Data-processing
department and i am really looking forward to replacing my 40 Windows
XP Desktops. i have set up a test environment and everything seems to
work great, except for one small detail. I run content filtering on my
sonicwall and i have some of the leads and managers that work in this
department are exempt from the restrictions. Currently i just have
their ips whitelisted, however once i move over to the sun ray setup
with windows TS connector it will seem like all request for internet
access are coming from the same ip. Any ideas on how to deal with this?
i would like to keep it consistent so everyones machine is the same and
interchangeable, but i really need to figure out what other people are
doing... or think might work
thanks
Nick
