They can be used with srss. Ye need to write your own config for them to work. Just need to know APDUs for this type of card.

Yes, you need to know a few things:

    - The cards must be either T=0 or T=1, we don't support
sync cards or i2c cards (so, if you want to hack your
telephone, mass transit, Kinko's or parking meter cards
using the DTU's internal reader, you're out of luck, but
you can try an external reader to do this ;-)

    - You must be able to identify the card type from the ATR
and/or using one or more APDUs - how you ID the card is
up to you, you can completely ignore the ATR if you want
      to for example.

    - The card must be able to emit a serial number that is
unique for that card type (but it doesn't have to be
unique for all cards every produced). So, it's OK for
a Payflex card to have a serial number of 1234 and it's
also OK for an OpenPlatform card to have a serial number
of 1234, since the token type that Sun Ray uses is based
on a concatenation of the card type + serial number.

I can send you a copy of my "writing smartcard config files for
Sun Ray" whitepaper that I am in the process of revising. If you
would like a copy, please send me a note off-line.

thanks,
mike

Hello SunRay-Users,

We have got hold of some cards used for authentication in another
project, and I wondered if they can be used for Sun Rays. In SRSS3.1,
instantly, no. The card is recognized as a card, but I get an icon
with an exclamation mark in a triangle, pointing to a Sun Ray picture.

From Windows driver which supports them, I believe these may be
OSCAR cards. Googling shows they could have been produced by GIS in
their early development, and probably could become a popular/licensed
product.

Here's what I got in the log (atr=3b020000 and other data):
