That VDA Cookbook is VERY VERY old. It uses the VDAK which was sort
of a technology preview.
Sun will be releasing,on Monday 3/17, the Virtual Desktop Connector.
It serves the same function as the VDAk only it is dead simple to
install and configure.
There will also be a nice cookbook and administration guides.
Look to sun.com on Monday.

Ok, I have been trying to do this, http://wiki.sun-rays.org/index.php/VDA_Cookbook
, and have had an impossible time getting the http://localhost/sdk
to work on the VirtualCenter Server. After modifying proxy.xml on
the win2k3 virtualcenter server, http://localhost/sdk fails. I
can't seem to make this work at all, not sure if I have to download
anything else from VmWare, like SDK kit. I am at a loss, I can
make it work for http://localhost/ui, but they want the "sdk" one
to work.
Let me explain my setup:
Server: 1 x4200
SW: Sunray Sever 4.0, sunray windows connector
Vmware: esx 3.5, virtualcenter 2.5
sun-vda v 1.0
ESX Server Build:
IP: 192.168.1.200
install from CD using the following for partitioning:
http://vmetc.com/2008/02/12/best-practices-for-esx-host-partitions/
After Server is built allow ssh for root
Test via iTerm
connect to ESX server:
solaris10sunraysvr IP: 192.168.1.131
Build solaris10sunraysvr - add vmware tools
- Copy Sunray SW, Sun-vda sw, and VMware SW to solaris10sunraysvr
- enable ftp
- add tzurita as user
- instaall sunray svr sw & windows connector & sun-vda kit
- modify vda-kiosh.sh
- add vda.conf
win2k3svrexmgr IP: 192.168.1.132
Build win2k3svr-esxmgr - add vmware tools - copy disk image over
goldenxpimage IP: 192.168.1.140
Build goldenxpimage - add vmware tools - copy disk image over
console to goldenxpimage
- add sun-vda stuff
console to win2k3svr-eskmgr
- ftp vmware SW and sun-vda SW from solaris10sunraysvr
-install SW
- start infrastructure client and connect to localhost
- add esx server, and vda required folders
- modify proxy.xml
- enable http via "SDK" secition
