The Solaris 10 8/07 & 5/08 release notes both contain notice
that CDE may not be included in future releases of Solaris,
and the new OpenSolaris 2008.05 release does not include it.
dtlogin is one of the parts of CDE covered by this notice.
(Pretty much everything not required for binary compatibility
is - public libraries like libXm and a few special case
programs like dtksh that others may have used to write
scripts are all that are planned to stay.)
i have some users that refuse to try a sunray only because they see this
old 90's banner...
Even after we put the splashy new login screen on in Solaris 10?
(and changed it several S10 patches/updates to be even snazzier
and more Sun Ray bandwidth-friendly) It lacks the customizability
of gdm, but doesn't look like 90's CDE any more.
