Hi folks,
Here's something I've been wondering (and please don't take this as
any indication of future direction or intent, I'm just a curious
developer wanting to leverage our terrific User Group to get a
little feedback, particularly regarding gdm scalability/robustness/
experience):
Hi Bob,
I setup a kiosk system on top of linux for a small library. I setup
two Linux SLES10 servers that are servicing 75 thin clients. They use
them to run a native linux search application. Seems to be working
well for the last 6 months.
I also tried setting up a small 30 user setup on linux but ran into
so many OS level issues with automounter/Gnome issues that we went
back to solaris as the underlying OS and everyone was much happier.
We are waiting for a chance to test the newer linux distro's before
we try again.
Thanks,
-Steve
