Hi Ben,

Is this CAM? 200 seems quite high otherwise. Well, it still seems high even with CAM, unless of course that's the user accounts and not concurrent usage.

If it's not CAM and they are normal solaris accounts, do you have centralized authentication and storage ready to go?

First question regarding the DS is what do you have stored in the SRDS? Do you have any multihead groups, registered tokens, etc? If not, then the easiest is the bring up the new servers setup the fog, etc and not create an interconnect.

utdesktop, utuser and the like all have output options that you can export the data into a file, then on the new fog you can import the customized data.

Hi all,

I have to make a server switch in few days, and my client is running approx.
200 users on a single Sun Fire V240 actually, with SRSS 3.1, Solaris 10 u3. The client wants to go on 2 x T6300 blade servers in a FOG mode, and want it
to be running on SRSS 4.0, Solaris u5.

Is there a way I can setup the both T6300 blade servers, and from there,
restore data from the original V240 server, and then proceed with an upgrade?
I'm reluctant to do so, because they are not working in a FOG actually, and
this environment is currently in production, so I would like to minimise
downtime as much as I can.

What would be the easiest way to go? Can I, just for an example, import the
Data Store configurations from SRSS 3.1 in a fresh install of SRSS 4.0? Or do
a tar/de-tar of "/var/opt/SUNWut/srds" from the old server to the new one, and
then play arround with it (sounds bad, but we never know!), or something like
it?

Thanks in advance!

Ben
