Doug,

Regarding your post: make sure you get the CID [canonical ID] right
in the utresadm command. On my SRS, it takes the form

IEEE802.MAC_ADDR

You'll need to do a utrestart [we did a "cold"; not sure if a "warm"
would suffice].

Also, the settings get propagated via the data store to other SRSs so
even if DTUs were getting redirected with utswitch, I would think that
would be taken care of automatically.

Scott

All,

New to the list, apologies if this has been covered before, but here
goes:

Our environment:

SRSS 4.0 running on RHEL 4u3
Sun Ray 2FS DTU's
Dell 2007WFP monitors
Cybex Switchview SC4UAD KVM's

I have some Dell widescreen monitors that we recently purchased. Their
"optimal" resolution is 1680x1050 at 60 hz. When we connect them to the
SunRay 2FS via DVI, they default to 1280x1024 and the image is stretched
to fill the added width. If we use the Sun supplied adapters to connect
them via VGA, they default to the desired 1680 x 1050.

Looking at the modes listed when I run utresdef, it does not list a
built-in timing for 1680 x 1050 60 Hz (digital).

We intend to connect them to a KVM switch that has DVI ports, but we
really need them to also run at the desired 1680 x 1050 resulotion.

>From some of my reading on the topic, I SHOULD be able to issue the
following command:

/opt/SUNWut/sbin/utresadm -a -c <DTU ID> -t default 1680x1050 at 60
<http://www.filibeto.org/mailman/listinfo/sunray-users>

This should force the DTU to go into that mode. The last time I started
playing with these settings I got myself all messed up. I am looking for
some guidance before I play again. Will this work in this configuration
even if the mode is not listed as built-in?

Nex question - If some of my sessions are redirected elsewhere using
utswitch to another SunRay server, do I also need to set this on the
destination SRSS server?

Thanks,
