I've never installed SRSS on Debian, and that's not supported so I don't have the time to try it myself. It sounds as though the SRDS LDAP datastore didn't get initialized properly. Did you run "utconfig"? Does the file /etc/opt/SUNWut/utadmin.conf exist?

I'd try it first without running utconfig, and see if you can get it working in that state first before trying with utconfig. In other words, start simple before complicating things with utconfig.
