26D doesn't indicate a hardware problem, though...at least not that I've ever seen (and we've seen our fair share of 26D's).
Technically either DHCP server will work since without the parameters the Sun Ray will simply broadcast to find a server. 26D means it's already found a server but isn't getting graphics data. Did you reboot after installing SRSS?
