Gary:

While I do not profess to be a Sunray authority, I've done just that and encountered no problems.

I was running about 30 Sunrays connected to an X4100 M2 on fully patched Solaris 10 x86 5/08. I did a Live Upgrade to Solaris 10 x86 10/08 (AKA u6) on another disk partition followed by luactivate and an 'init 6' and the new Sunray services seemed to start up just fine.

As soon as those came up, I fired up updatemanager and find that there are 2 Sunray-related patches that need to be applied relative to the u6 disk images: One related to Sunray Kiosk mode (128166-01, I think) and the other related to Sunray Core Services (127554-03).

Note: we've got a pretty minimal Sunray environment: we don't use Kiosk mode, we use zero-administration mode for our Smart cards, we don't connect to Windows terminal services, and we don't use FOG .... so I can't claim that those things will just fire up immediately. But, at the very least, basic Sunray Services seem to behave just fine after a Live Upgrade to Solaris 10 10/08.

I hope that you are equally successful ....

John

I have an X4100 running Sun Ray Server 4.1 under Solaris 10 5/08.
If I do a Live Upgrade to Solaris 10 10/08, can I expect it to
still work?
