Hello Andreas, AH> Indeed!! We are waiting for this feature for years now. Our attempts to AH> misuse VirtualBox (Solaris instances on Solaris host) for this purpose AH> have not been that successful yet (machine is dying now and then). AH> Solaris zones were the better choice if that only worked.
As I see, the subject of SRSS in local zones is popular in the community indeed, and many applications/use-cases have been suggested, even despite the lack of redirected sound and storage devices. Although that lack of devices would break some server-migration (or virtualization) scenarios expected by some customers. Now, what would it take Sun to respond to such a request? At least with an unsupported hack build made with several if()s spread around the code to disable device features? Would a community-wide loud "pleeease!" be sufficient, or do these harsh times require that someone with a support contract stands out and requests this feature as their own must-have? :) I hope this won't become such a long-expected project as Acrobat Reader on Solaris /x86 /x86_64 has become ;) -- Best regards, Jim Klimov mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ SunRay-Users mailing list [email protected] http://www.filibeto.org/mailman/listinfo/sunray-users
