Just some quick questions on redirection with Sun Ray Connector for Windows.
1. What is the status of RAW USB redirection? As of Sun Ray Connector
for Windows 2.1 is it available?
2. Is printer redirection the next BEST workaround for USB printer in
the absence of RAW USB redirection?
3. I am a bit confused about the steps to setup printer redirection for
Windows. From what I understand from the Installation and Administration
Guide, the following are the steps:
# /usr/sbin/lpadmin -p <printer-name> -v
/tmp/SUNWut/units/IEEE802.<mac-address>/dev/printers/<device node>
# /usr/bin/enable <printer-name>
# /usr/sbin/accept <printer-name>
# /opt/SUWuttsc/bin/uttsc -r printer:<printername>=<driver name>
<hostname.domain>
Am I on the right track?
a) Is <mac-address> the MAC address of each Sun Ray DTU? Does it mean
that I have to setup print queue for every DTU?
b) Where do I get <device node>?
c) What is the best way (via script, manual etc) to setup the print
queue automatically for a number of DTUs?
d) Is <driver name> a Windows driver or Solaris driver? Does it mean I
do not need a Solaris driver for the USB printer to work?
e) Is <printer-name> any arbitrary name that I give during the "Add
Printer" setup in Windows?
4. For a serial printer, what should I do in case the printer serial
setting does not match the DTU serial port setting? Is changing the DTU
serial port setting an option or I can only change the printer serial
setting?
I would really appreciate any reply to enlighten me.
