I now have X sessions from my DTUs to a Linux server via XDMCP. My SRSS
runs on Solaris 10 and the DTUs use Xnest to make the XDMCP query
connection. This is working great for a simple desktop, however it
means those sessions don't get access to hardware devices, such as sound
or USB. Sound is not a big deal since I use SunRays in my public
computing labs, but USB device access is.
What are you using for remote X desktop, anything other than XDMCP? Is
there a good way to get a remote X session that includes USB (and other
hardware device) access?
Thanks.
