How to tame YouTube?

The multimedia redirection for the SunRay does not work with Flash movies.
Before downloading clips manually, converting them in the proper H.264 or
VC-1 format and uploading them to a video server, lets find an automagical
solution.

This is my wish.
When the user opens a flash movie in the browser, this clip is sent to a
server where it is converted on-the-fly by
ffmpeg/mencoder/ffdshow/transcode. And then the converted movie is opened
by the Windows Media player.
Is there a browser plugin available? Is it necessary to have a special
proxy server?

Of course, you have to execute the encoding process on a dedicated server
to prevent that this has a negative impact on other running programs for
the user.

Who knows the answer to this?

Pieter Kleinjan
