We have 190 sunray 270 terminal . We use nativ solaris10/gnome environment for studenst. The FOG contains 5 sun fire x4100 (dual opteron 285, 8G RAM 2x72G sas disk just for local OS). The user's home are on a sun fire x4500 (dual opteron 285, 16G RAM, 48x500G sata disk). We use ldap auth with chipcard, and zfs/nfs with automounter. In this enviroment, one FOG member can handle about 40 terminals with good user expirience. The CPU and RAM seams to be balanced. The "backend" server used not just for user's home, but for main applications (soffice, firefox), and act as jumpstart install server for FOG too. The x4500 has no significant load. The network is local lan with cisco switches, no load, no problem on network side.
