Hello SunRay-Users,

While testing a new server we got a spare Sun Ray 1 DTU out
of the closet, and discovered that it doesn't boot when any
USB device is plugged into it. This includes keyboard and mouse.

The symptoms are: the DTU displays its initial boot OSD
(status 1), resets, flashes the amber light for about 3 seconds
and goes to OSD-1 again. Endless loop, until we plug out all
USB devices. Then it finds DHCP server, X11 server and so on.
If we plug the keyboard/mouse into the DTU, it works until we
reset it in any manner (stop+a and power cord replug included).

We tried updating to the latest firmware (SRSS-4.1 and
SRSS-4.1p1), as well as rolling back to our currently common
firmware (SRSS-4.0p3); namely:
  GUI4.0_127553-03_2008.05.14.13.48
  GUI4.1_50_2008.09.25.12.37
  GUI4.1_139548-01_2008.12.08.15.16

It is not a firmware problem, as far as we can tell.
Another similar DTU was also updated to the latest firmware
and it simply works as expected.

Is the hardware botched, or can anything be done to recover
this DTU for normal operation? Has anyone else encountered
such behavior?
