Hotdesking seems to be currently broken
So I take it hot desking doesn't work yet... schucks. Hot desking is a must have
in my book.
No no no - this is a misinterpretation. Hotdesking doesn't rely on PAM
at all, it's core to the SRSS architecture. The pam_sunray_hotdesk
module has to do with Remote Hotdesk Authentication, which causes a more
secure out-of-session authentication when you hotdesk.
If for some reason pam_sunray_hotdesk.so (or loginGUI itself) doesn't
work on Ubuntu, just specify the -D option to utpolicy to use legacy
hotdesking, which relies on the screen lock program (i.e. xscreensaver
or gnome-screensaver) to provide security when hotdesking. If you use
the browser admin tool, select "Direct Session Access Allowed" on the
policy page.
