Hi everyone,

Thought I'd bring up a USB storage problem we've always had and just managed to
solve. We use SRSS 4.1 on CentOS 5.2 and until very recently our DHCP server
handing out Sun Ray leases had an unreachable IP address for 'option
NewT.LogHost' configured (legacy config). Plugging in a USB storage device
causes a 20-30 second lock up of the DTU and the storage device is not detected
or mounted on the Sun server.

Doing a bit of packet tracing, you can see the server hit port 7777 on the DTU,
then the DTU is ARPing for the log host's IP and obviously not find it. During
this time the DTU is in a frozen state, mouse, keyboard and screen updates are
locked up. Once it recovers, the session is fine except the USB storage device
is not detected. Removing a device doesn't cause any issues, only inserting a
storage device.

Changing the LogHost to 0.0.0.0 or giving an actual Syslog server fixes the
problem, no DTU freezing and USB storage devices are detected and mount
automatically.

There wasn't anything in the utstoraged log or messages to indicate what could
be causing the problem. Just mentioning it if anyone wants to submit a bug
report or write something down somewhere for this.
