Good morning! I originally posted the following on Sun's Sun Ray Software - General Discussion forum. It was suggested that I post it on this mailing list. So, here it is:
Hello! I'm experimenting with kiosks on SRSS 4.1 and OS 2009.06. I did a fresh install following the sun-ray wiki: http://wiki.sun-rays.org/index.php/SRSS_4.1_on_OpenSolaris_2008.11#OpenSolaris_2009.06 Everything was working fine when using it to log in to user sessions. However, whenever I tried to use a kiosk mode, I wouldn't get anything but a blank X background screen. Then I came across a statement in the Meta Kiosk blog entry ( http://blogs.sun.com/danielc/entry/meta_kiosk_how_to_run) that I might need to use chmod 04755. So, I setuid on the kiosk applications I was trying to use and voila! They worked! Now the question... Am I doing something wrong in my configuration that requires me to setuid on my kiosk executables? Thanks! Mark
