The overall printer setup process should be described here:

If there is any missing information or the current information needs
to be made more clear, please leave a comment.

Thanks,
Paul

You need to setup a raw queue on the Solaris side for mapping the printers.

/usr/sbin/lpadmin -p <printer-name> -v \
/tmp/SUNWut/units/IEEE802.<mac-address>/dev/printers/<device node>

This is an example on the non laser printer that has been tried.

/opt/SUNWuttsc/bin/uttsc -g 1200x960 -A 24 -r printer:HP6122 -T WindowsXP_VM_Printer 10.25.53.92 /opt/SUNWuttsc/bin/uttsc -g 1200x960 -A 24 -r printer:HP6122="hp deskjet 6122 series" -T WindowsXP_VM_Printer 10.25.53.92

Here's how it's configured:

Content types: postscript

Printer type: unknown

This particular printer will print PS junk. I'm assuming this might be a driver issue because it prints in Solaris. The printer is a non-laser printer.

The lasers I've tried were an HP and a Lexmark(again don't remember the models but they both supported PS). For those I set the cue up in Solaris with no PS filter so that everything going to the printer should be raw. With those, printing from Solaris worked just fine but when I sent it to Windows I got an error when trying to print.

I apologize for not having specifics but it's been a while since I've run into this and just recently I've been asked about this again, but in a more general sense. So if this isn't specific enough I might have to wait until I get more details to give.

How are you setting up the queue and what options are you passing to uttsc?

I don't have any specific models that I have tried except that they were all laser printers except one. Also, I've got all of them to work with Solaris directly attached but again not with uttsc.
