I'm running the uttsc 2.2 beta, and have run across an SELinux context bug. I know there was a feedback forum somewhere, but I don't really have access to that right now, but still wanted to pass this along.
-Bill Here's the alert: Summary: SELinux is preventing uttsc-bin from loading /opt/SUNWuttsc/lib/libuttscsrss.so.1 which requires text relocation. Detailed Description: The uttsc-bin application attempted to load /opt/SUNWuttsc/lib/libuttscsrss.so.1 which requires text relocation. This is a potential security problem. Most libraries do not need this permission. Libraries are sometimes coded incorrectly and request this permission. The SELinux Memory Protection Tests (http://people.redhat.com/drepper/selinux-mem.html) web page explains how to remove this requirement. You can configure SELinux temporarily to allow /opt/SUNWuttsc/lib/libuttscsrss.so.1 to use relocation as a workaround, until the library is fixed. Please file a bug report (http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/enter_bug.cgi) against this package. Allowing Access: If you trust /opt/SUNWuttsc/lib/libuttscsrss.so.1 to run correctly, you can change the file context to textrel_shlib_t. "chcon -t textrel_shlib_t '/opt/SUNWuttsc/lib/libuttscsrss.so.1'" You must also change the default file context files on the system in order to preserve them even on a full relabel. "semanage fcontext -a -t textrel_shlib_t '/opt/SUNWuttsc/lib/libuttscsrss.so.1'" The following command will allow this access: chcon -t textrel_shlib_t '/opt/SUNWuttsc/lib/libuttscsrss.so.1' Additional Information: Source Context user_u:system_r:unconfined_t:s0 Target Context system_u:object_r:lib_t:s0 Target Objects /opt/SUNWuttsc/lib/libuttscsrss.so.1 [ file ] Source uttsc-bin Source Path /opt/SUNWuttsc/lib/uttsc-bin Port <Unknown> Host dv1105c Source RPM Packages SUNWuttsc-2.2-13 Target RPM Packages SUNWuttsc-2.2-13 Policy RPM selinux-policy-2.4.6-137.el5 Selinux Enabled True Policy Type targeted MLS Enabled True Enforcing Mode Enforcing Plugin Name allow_execmod Host Name dv1105c Platform Linux dv1105c 2.6.18-92.1.10.el5 #1 SMP Wed Jul 23 03:56:11 EDT 2008 x86_64 x86_64 Alert Count 2 First Seen Fri 07 Aug 2009 10:13:31 AM CDT Last Seen Fri 07 Aug 2009 10:16:09 AM CDT Local ID be7d3e83-30d8-4157-8757-1cb1737ce34e Line Numbers Raw Audit Messages host=dv1105c type=AVC msg=audit(1249658169.221:71840): avc: denied { execmod } for pid=12550 comm="uttsc-bin" path="/opt/SUNWuttsc/lib/libuttscsrss.so.1" dev=cciss/c0d0p1 ino=1410340 scontext=user_u:system_r:unconfined_t:s0 tcontext=system_u:object_r:lib_t:s0 tclass=file host=dv1105c type=SYSCALL msg=audit(1249658169.221:71840): arch=40000003 syscall=125 success=no exit=-13 a0=f7f6e000 a1=1000 a2=5 a3=ff8979c0 items=0 ppid=12532 pid=12550 auid=694 uid=694 gid=245 euid=0 suid=0 fsuid=0 egid=245 sgid=245 fsgid=245 tty=pts3 ses=11892 comm="uttsc-bin" exe="/opt/SUNWuttsc/lib/uttsc-bin" subj=user_u:system_r:unconfined_t:s0 key=(null)
