Hello:

Look at plugins, type "about:plugins" and disable java plugin.

Another plugin which have trouble is flash plugin, but you can't do
anything with this.

IMO everyone with firefox (and *especially* in Windows environments) should seriously consider using the "noscript" add-on for security reasons. It's a well-maintained and really helpful add-on that by default prevents flash, java, and javascript (or any other runnable content) unless you explicitly enable it either temporarily or permanently for the current site, and it pays extra attention to "cross-site scripting" which is often a sign of malware. I find it helpful to also use the "Toolbar Buttons" add-on which provides custom buttons which can be added to toolbars for temporarily white-listing a site to noscript and for revoking temporary permissions, so I have these available for ready access.

Most of the time I find I'm just "passing through" pages in search of something and don't care about their flash content, and use of the noscript add-on greatly enhances my browsing performance in these cases in addition to providing security.

Note however that if you really care about seeing the java/flash/javascript content then of course this does nothing to speed up display of that content.

Then you can see this article:

You can install firefox 3.52 or Opera browser, and try.

Good luck

Hello,

We have firefox 3.0.7 downloaded from
http://releases.mozilla.com/sun/solaris10/ and it runs really slow on
Solaris 10 u8 SRS4.1 on T5220. If we use firefox on Windows via RDP
then the graphics is really fast. Is there any way to improve the user
experience with firefox on solaris ?

Thanks

Thierry.
