Maybe someone can inform me about the latest developments around 3D
rendering with Sun Rays.
I read that Sun has discontinued the Sun Shared Visualization Server
product in april 2009.
What are the thoughts behind it? Is there something developed which is
better?
How is this related to the opensolaris efforts on:
http://hub.opensolaris.org/bin/view/Project+visualization%2Dhpc/#Problems|region?
TurboVNC and VirtualGL, which were part of Sun Shared Visualizaton
Server, are opensource and still available.
But the Sun Ray plugin needed to use it is no longer available since Sun
discontinued the support of Sun Shared Visualization Server.
Can the plugin be made available "as is" by adding it in the SRSS 4.2
Supplemental directory?
That way people can still use this technology if they want to.
