I finally got the time to hookup the 1G.
I can confirm that the performance is terrible on the the 1G with the
final 4.2 Sun Ray software.
While scrolling down a webpage it takes almost a second before the
scroll action is processed.
I have played a bit with compression settings and bandwidth but this
does not solve the problem.
Forcing lossless compression decreases performance even more.
It looks like it is in some sort of low bandwidth mode even if bandwidth
limit is set to 100000000 bits.
I think someone from Sun should have a look at this problem.

We downgraded our installation to SRSS 4.1 and SR 1G firmwares to
GUI4.1_50_2008.09.25.12.37.
Performance returned to normal.
I wonder if the newer SRSS 4.2 optimizes for newer SunRays in
detriment of older versions.
