There are a number of solutions here. The script you have written is
one. Maybe not the best idea, but it does work. There are several
versions floating around. Another would be some hardware solution and
there are a number of those as well. The one I usually recommend is the
Microsoft Network Load Balancing. The other problem you have and may not
have recognized yet is that load balancing is only one of the problems.
What is the user hotdesks to another, or even the same!, Sun Ray DTU?
You script has to recognize that and return to the same WTS. Not an
easy thing to do. The solution is Microsoft Session Directory. I don't
know if there are license fees for NLB and SD, you'll have to check with
Microsoft on that.
Caveat Emptor: This could all change with Windows 2008 Server, I just
haven't played with it yet. I seem to recall that NLB is now part of
2008 Server, so check that out. I assume Session Directory is also.
