Art,
Tom informed me that we're not using the "follow-me" printing so I'm
not sure if that makes comparisons between our environments invalid.
Here are the options in my uttsc string:
-m -b -A 16 -r disk:G:=/tmp/SUNWut/mnt/${USER} -r scard:on -r
printer:hplj3000-lynne="HP LaserJet P3005 PS" -d our_domain -u "" $1
An observation on the pure Solaris printing:
:ls -lah /tmp/SUNWut/units/IEEE802.00144fa81d96/devices/u...@1
total 16
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 199 Jan 26 14:01 .
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 244 Jan 26 13:54 ..
crw------- 1 utku148 root 231, 131072 Jan 26 14:01
HP,deskjet_d1300_ser...@2
Don't the perms displayed [600] prohibit printing for any user other
than utku148? So if you did a test print within Solaris, I would expect
it to fail as I assume you did not "su utku148" before you did the test
[?].
Yep, that's right. Only the kiosk user has access to the printer. I use
meta kiosk and have one of my cards configured to give me an xterm in a
kiosk session. Very handy for testing these sorts of things. So I was
the proper user when testing. Just to be sure, I did chmod 777 on the
device node and it made no difference.
