Hello Jason,

The memory consumption for uttsc in kiosk mode is even lower.
The private memory per user is around 34 MB.

An update to this thread as I left out some detail; this SRSS server will be hosting sessions in kiosk mode – no Solaris desktops. Therefore, memory consumption per user will be very low, around 100 mb.

My customer has a robust VMware ESX (v3.5x) environment and would like to leverage virtual servers where possible and this does not exclude their Sun Ray deployment. They have a couple Sun Fire X4150’s running Solaris for SRSS today but they’re primarily a Windows shop and monitoring and backup tools aren’t available. Plus, if Solaris or SRSS patches impact a system negatively they can always roll-back to a snapshot and if the physical hardware fails the VM can always be restarted on another system. We’re going to make a Solaris VM for an SRSS dedicated primary – this is easy, low utilization and makes good sense. For a SRSS server to host sessions in production, like we’re hoping, it seems like we’ll have to figure out as we go. I haven’t got much data to go on, so far.
