If you have absolutely no clue what's affecting this, I'd use "xrdb -q"
to get the complete list of resources, and then do some sort of binary
search: remove half the definitions, use xrdb to set the Resource DB to
the results, see if that solves the problem. If not, try removing the
other half. Then add half of the missing defs back in, and so on, until
you've isolated the problem. Tedious, but it will find the issue for you.

hello all,
on a sunray (solaris 10, SRSS 3.1), emacs failed with this message:
% emacs
X protocol error: BadFont (invalid Font parameter) on protocol request 47
Fatal error (6)Abort
If i do:
xrdb -remove; emacs
it works!
But the strange behaviour is that:
- a userA, Xsun belonging to userA, emacs works correctly
- a userB, Xsun on the same server (*), emacs fails
I don't know well how xrdb works, because, so far, everything worked.
I tried to create a new .Xdefaults file without success (we use CDE)
Anybody can help?
thanks in advance,
gerard
(*) on another server, emacs works for the userB
