I have that behaviour with some SDAC installations that after successful connection with the server the clients show 44D and then do nothing at all. Other clients get a session (gdm login) but some dont. For those that dont work I can even see the server to log a IMHO positive connection. Is there any way to debug this? Server is SRSS4.2 on debian sid. I tried Windows 7 (doesn't work) and even wine (works). We do have OpenVPN in between but I have a client that works there (can't tell Windows version but I guess it's XP). I double checked disabled firewall settings in Windows too.
