Stuart, Are you saying that meteor.bom didn't get put into /tftpboot like in my example? If so, I'd say that's where your problem lies. Maybe your tarball is somehow corrupted? Compare the contents against my transcript.
I got the file from http://www.tadpolecomputer.co.uk/support/TADmeteor14-v1.5.9.tar However, keep in mind that this was 2.5 years ago so I'm pretty sure they've upgraded since. I just tried this link and it failed. Their home page pointed to http://www.tadpolecomputer.co.uk/product_support/downloads.asp And the one you want, I think, is the Comet: ftp://ftp.tadpole.com/support/Comet15/Firmware/ At the time, we were dealing with a gentleman named Paul Spillers: Paul Spillers Solutions Architecht Tadpole Computer Products General Dynamics Itronix Corporation 20450 Stevens Creek Blvd, Suite 300 Cupertino, CA 95014 Phone: 571 258 8399 Fax: 408 973 6901 Mail: [email protected] www.tadpole.com Scott From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Stuart Sent: Friday, March 26, 2010 9:00 AM To: SunRay-Users mailing list Subject: EXTERNAL:Re: [SunRay-Users] Sun Ray Laptop Hi Scott, Yeah, I did all that. Thanks for at least confirming I'm on the right track. I've been trying version TADmeteor14-v1.5.9.tar but the laptop tries to get 'meteor14.bom' which isn't part of the package. So perhaps I need TADmeteor14-v1.5.9.tar instead. Where did you get it from? I'm not sure what model it is, but the tftp request for a firmware update asks for 'meteor14.bom'. I looked around on the GM/Tadpole support site for firmware updates and can only find firmware for the likes of the M1400 and M1500. I initially thought it was a M1400, but the firmware goes by a different name, not 'meteor14.bom'. The current firmware version on the laptop is meteor14-V1.5.5-0104. Does anybody know what I'm taking about and how I am to upgrade the firmware. (It currently doesn't work with Sun Ray 4.2, throwing up protocol errors as it connects.) Thanks, Stuart. _______________________________________________ SunRay-Users mailing list [email protected] http://www.filibeto.org/mailman/listinfo/sunray-users
